The Pout-Pout Fishby Deborah DiesenLoved by another parent with similar taste
A beautiful fish with shimmering scales learns that sharing brings more joy than being admired alone. Marcus Pfister's dazzling illustrations and gentle message about friendship and generosity captivate young readers.
I was never a big fan of this book. The illustrations are pretty, but I'm not sure what the moral of the story is? Why did the rainbow fish have to give away all his shiny scales? Why couldn't he just become friends with other fish WITHOUT giving away his rainbow scales? It'd be a good conversation starter about how your kid feels about the fish giving away his scales and then applying it to real life.
