Do you believe in adoption?

May 18th, 2010 / 3 Comments

If you believe an orphan child should have a loving home to raise him/her, please read on.

I came across Tiffany at A Moment Cherished, a pastor’s wife and mom of 2. She is sharing about her journey to adopt a child from Ethopia and I was touched.

Tiffany wrote, “God has opened our eyes, softened our hearts, and turned our faces towards Ethiopia. With everything in us, we know that we have a child in Ethiopia who needs to be rescued. My arms ache for this baby I have never seen, for the baby God has grown just as tightly into my heart, as He grew my other two children into my womb. This weighs heavy on our hearts as we face the mountain of paperwork and the Goliath of not having enough money. Adoption is expensive, and we have stepped out in faith, without the money in our pockets, trusting and believing that God will provide because His heart is for orphans.”

You may say I’m a sucker for a sob story. But when it comes to orphans and adoption, I don’t mind being a sucker.

I wanted to adopt a child, but that’s not God’s plan for us. I rejoice with Tiffany and her family, and what God has in store for them. I want to do my little bit to help.

The adoption process is much more expensive than I thought – $30,000! With an associate pastor’s salary, Tiffany’s family is taking this on by faith. But Tiffany is not asking for money. She only asks us to buy coffee! The proceeds from the coffee you buy will not only help her with her adoption fees, but also contribute to an orphanage in Ethiopia. Of course, if God moves you to give a donation to Tiffany, I’m sure she will not mind. 🙂

I’ve never been to Ethiopia, but I know God loves the people of Ethiopia. I am glad to be a part of God’s work anywhere in the world.

By the way, Tiffany did not ask me to post this. It’s of my own free will. 🙂
