Thoughts on Good Friday

April 22nd, 2011

We can wish one another a Happy Easter, but what do you say on Good Friday? “Happy Good Friday” just doesn’t seem to convey the right meaning.

Good Friday is a day of meditation, of thinking about the deep issues of life and death, and perhaps it’s not so “Happy.”

Take a few moments today, with your family, and reflect on the significance of Good Friday.

With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last. The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died, he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!” ~ Mark 15:37
