5 healthy snacks made easy

April 20th, 2011

Everyone is concerned about health – and that’s a good thing.

I remember I use to have milk and Twinkies for snack after school…those days are gone!

Easy to make healthy snacks, here we come!

1. Edamame – soy beans in a pod. Buy frozen and boil to eat.

2. Fruit smoothies – blend frozen blueberries, a banana, an apple, and some ice cubes. Refreshing and delicious.

3. Trail mix – mix anything bite size. Try dried fruits, tiny crackers, nuts, granola, sunflower seeds, banana chips. Add cheese cubes and fresh diced apples.

4. Pita chips and hummus – also with carrot sticks.

5. Homemade popsicles – freeze 100% juice in molds or ice trays.
