Parents being graded by teachers?

January 26th, 2011

Adults receive evaluations for work performance, students gets graded at school, so how about giving parents an evaluation as well?

I just read that Florida State Representative Kelli Stargel (R-Lakeland) is proposing a bill that will require parents of kids in elementary school to be graded on their school involvement.

According to The Ledger, the areas to be evaluated would include parental response to requests for conferences or communication, student’s completion of homework and preparation for tests, student’s physical preparation for school that has an effect on mental preparation, and the frequency of the student’s absence and tardiness.

Parents would be graded satisfactory, unsatisfactory or needs improvement.

Do you think this would be a good idea??
